ArenaNet Makes Guild Wars 2 Extended Objectives Meta-Achievement Changes To Make It Less Grindy
ArenaNet makes changes to Guild Wars 2 Meta-achievement of expanded goals in the Icebrood saga due to the current grind.
In one forum message, the team explained their reasoning. Currently, the meta-achievement requires all players to complete collections. As the team say, it’s pretty cranky. In addition, this version does not really reflect the level of difficulty expected with this achievement.
Changes to this will arrive in tomorrow’s release (March 23) and are aimed at reducing that grind. Here are the changes in question:
- The need for prismatium ingots to craft weapons will be reduced from 10 to 5.
- The recipe for the Prismatium Ingot will require 5 Prismaticite instead of 10.
- Another prismatium ingot recipe that uses more prismaticite and less orichalcum will be available from vendor Olmakhan at Eye of the North.
- The Daily Dragon Responder will reward 10 Prismaticite instead of 6.
The requirements for completing the meta-achievement will be further lowered in a future update. However, you will still receive the Tome of “/ Stretch” Emotes in addition to 25 achievement points when you complete certain 26 Champion Achievements. In addition, full weapon collections will be moved to the rare collections category.
The team notes that while they wanted this meta-achievement to be some sort of bonus optional challenge, they misjudged the work involved in bringing it to fruition. Fortunately, it looks like the change is coming tomorrow.
