Guild Wars 2 Team Teases Oriental Expansion – Destructoid
“A glimpse of the distant future”
It’s kinda amazing that Guild Wars 2 lasted so long.
He’ll be eight in August, and ArenaNet, for the most part, has been a pretty good steward of the game. During that time, he’s only hosted two expansions (Heart of thorns and Fire path): Otherwise, it was propelled by its seasonal concept “Living World” which was way ahead of the curve of many other games at the time. Now he’s gearing up for another era of the game.
On the official website, the team says it clearly: “Development is underway on a third Guild Wars 2 expansion. ”There it is. While it’s“ too early ”to mention specific details on just about anything (even the timeline), they gave us an“ early concept art piece, ”and pagodas and cherry blossoms are a dead gift that Guild Wars 2 look east into the future.
While things are a bit uncertain at the moment (and ArenaNet is centered in Seattle, where Washington state has been quite badly hit by COVID-19), the expansions are generally releasing on a two to three year frame rate (2015 , 2017). Guild Wars 2 is due for one, but we could wait until 2021 for that.
