Guild Wars 2: The Icebrood Saga Finale Continues Today With Balance
There is now more Guild Wars 2 content on offer if you feel like diving back into the free MMORPG. ArenaNet has released the next chapter in the Guild Wars 2 finale: The Icebrood Saga. This one is called Balance and offers new Dragon Response missions, four other allied factions and a solo mission for Braham Eirsson.
You will be venturing to many places in the new Dragon Response missions where you will meet leaders of the Ice Brood to fight. While these enemies are of a similar level to the last chapter, Episode 5’s team leader Joe Kimmes tells us that there are different ways to challenge.
“In Caledon Forest, you’ll rush to the aid of a Lionguard Fort, then siege outside the Dominion of Winds,” he explains. “The Bloodtide Coast mission has players pushing Icebrood straight outside of Lion’s Arch, and Fireheart Rise will see you lend aid to the Flame Legion and help its leader, Efram, rally his people to your cause. The Icebrood leaders you meet in each of them will be at the level of the last chapter; however, expect to see some new in-game cheats, especially if you choose to enable challenge modes. “
One of the allied factions rallying to the cause this time around is the Tengu. Kimmes tells us that we will meet them helping them in the Caledon Forest Response Mission. Once you hire them, they will offer support in many of the other Dragon Response missions. “In addition to fighting alongside you, Tengu allies will allow you to equip their mighty bows as grouped items – you’ll get a limited amount of mighty arrows to spot and injure your dragon enemies,” he says.
However, rallying the faction to the Tengu Global Faction Mobilization event will take a bit more work. “A lot of the support tasks are shared, so some things will be familiar to players – you’ll bring supplies, fight in intervention missions, and hunt specific enemies,” Kimmes says. “Additionally, players will be invited to return to Drizzlewood Coast to collect Tengu items left in the area.”
Kimmes isn’t ready to say too much about Braham Eirsson’s solo story mission. However, he tells us that we will be fighting “destroyers in a volcano fall that may be familiar to players from previous Living Story episodes.”
Playing Guild Wars 2: The Balance Chapter of the Icebrood Saga will also give you an idea of what to expect. We ask Kimmes how this chapter lays the groundwork for the final leg of The Icebrood Saga, and he wants to highlight the story.

“I think that by playing this version, the players will have a good idea of what is in the last chapter,” he explains. “You’ll also see the benefits of foreshadowing in the previous chapters as well as the base versions of enemy skills that will appear in the finale.”
