■ On August 7, the Fuller Public Library invites you to its late summer reading night from 9 am to 11 am with Mr. Aaron as a guest! We have planned a morning with music, fun, free books and snacks! Bring your own blankets or chairs. Part of our program was sponsored by the Hoegen family.
■ On August 6 and 7, members of the Deering Community Church and the Women’s Guild will be at Hillsboro Shaw’s from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to promote the upcoming Deering Community Summer Fair and sell tickets for our grand raffle. which includes three great prizes: a portable spa, a wine gift basket or a gift card / certificate tree. The first choice gets the first choice! Tickets cost $ 5 each or five for $ 20. Proceeds from this raffle and the Fair will be used to support local organizations such as Hillsboro and Weare Food Pantry, Operation Christmas, Lion’s Club Christmas Baskets, GHSS and others. Donations are also welcome!
■ Save August 21-22 to attend History Alive in Hillsborough. The Jones Road grounds feature re-enactments of four major wars in American history. The historic center on E. Washington Road will focus on the history and culture of the Abenaki people. In addition, there will be plenty of hands-on exhibits, artisans, and demonstrations, many of which are aimed at children. We are looking for volunteers to help at both sites. Check the website at historyalivenh.org or call 464-0107.
■ The Hillsboro Legion Auxiliary will be holding their annual Craft Fair on October 30 from 9 to 2. Table spaces will be $ 25. Interested sellers can contact Elaine at 464-9096 for more information and to reserve a space.
Other columns from the Contoocook River region will continue in the Sunday instructor.
