Lawyers debate impact of digitalization, trade wars and Brexit on the luxury sector

Hogan Lovells lawyers will join entertainment and fashion law expert Pamela Weinstock to discuss the implications of accelerating digitization and e-commerce on the luxury sector at a webinar next week .
The April 21 online event, hosted by the Luxury Law Alliance in association with Hogan Lovells, will aim to help General Counsel and their teams anticipate and overcome the challenges that lie ahead as their businesses, clients and suppliers emerge. The Covid-19 pandemic has been profoundly altered by it.
Weinstock’s career has spanned the fashion, arts, media and entertainment industries. She has advised a range of large companies including Coty, fashion and lifestyle company Kenneth Cole Productions, and Writers Guild of America. Based in New York, she chairs the Fashion Industry Group of the International Trademark Association and is a member of the Steering Committee of the National Association of Women Lawyers Fashion Law Affinity Group
She will be joined by three Hogan Lovells partners: Aline Doussin, head of the UK sales team; co-head of global tax practice Karen Hughes; and Sahira Khwaja, Head of London Brands and Co-Head of Fashion and Luxury Groups.
The panel will discuss the impact of digitization on intangible assets and examine how it is forcing brands to change their marketing strategies. He will also discuss the impact of Brexit and the US-China trade war on the luxury sector and discuss the extent to which these geopolitical forces are driving the restructuring and decoupling of supply shifts.
