Saints Row’s open world looks pretty good in new video
Game Informer has released plenty of exclusive content for the upcoming Saints Row reboot, and yesterday they released the first look at open world gameplay in the new game being developed by Volition. Even though the video is not captured in 4K resolution, the graphics look very nice at first glance. Volition said they built an entirely new engine after all.
Last Friday, Game Informer also released an exclusive hands-on preview with Saints Row. According to the author, the ride is much heavier than previous franchise entries, although he also compared the drift to that of Mario Kart. On the crossing front, the author hailed the wingsuit as an exhilarating way to get around the game world that sits somewhere between the cape of Super Mario World and the glide of Batman Arkham.
However, the fight did not receive much the same praise, as it was deemed relatively mundane. Still, most of the exotic weapons weren’t available in the preview.
Saints Row will be released on February 25, 2022, amid a very busy schedule planned for that month (Life Is Strange: Remastered Collection, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires, The King of Fighters XV, Horizon Forbidden West , Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Sifu, Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream, Blood Bowl 3, Evil Dead: The Game, Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons and Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong).
As the future Boss, with Neenah, Kevin and Eli by your side, you will form The Saints and face off against Los Panteros, The Idols and Marshall as you build your empire on the streets of Santo Ileso and fight for control of the city. At the end of the day, Saints Row is the story of a startup, it’s just that the business the Saints are in is the crime.
