Territory War feat makes large-scale battles unplayable in the New World
A known lagging feat has been around the New World in recent times. An attacking army can prevent the server from registering properly, causing a significant lag and then gaining the upper hand in large-scale battles. Those who participate in these one-sided wars are powerless to defend themselves, losing territory to their enemies, and are forced to fight another day.
This exploit has been recorded by several members of the New World community, and it has occurred on many servers. A more notable thread on the New World support forums was created by Kdog on October 6, which recorded the exploit. In it, the massive attacking force could gain the checkpoint, and the lag was so large that Kdog was unable to strike an attacking member, forced to watch as they took the checkpoint.
Wars in the New World occur when a company, a guild, of one of the three factions increases its influence over a particular territory belonging to a company of an enemy faction. When it reaches its maximum influence, the opposing Company can declare war. Both companies have a few days to prepare for war, with players from both factions signing up regardless of which company they are in. When the two meet, it’s a 50v50 battle, with the attacking team expected to capture three outside territories. the defender’s fort before attacking the control point in the fort itself.
The exploit occurs when players use massive amounts of AoE effects to delay the server, namely a weapon known as the Ice Gauntlet.
Hopefully the developers of the new world Amazon Games can find a way to fix this problem to prevent this from happening again in the future. Once this is fixed, the dev team will have a more difficult task managing the territories lost between the warring factions.
