‘Guild Wars 2 End Of Dragons’ Elite Spec Second Beta Begins This Week
- The second elite specialization beta kicks off this Tuesday
- Anyone with a “Guild Wars 2” account will be able to participate
- New specifications for Warrior, Revenant, and Elementalist will be available for testing
The final bundle of Elite Specializations will soon be playable for beta testing this week after the ArenaNet devstream, which showed each new spec of “Guild Wars 2″ in action.
As in the previous beta week, the second trio of playable specializations will be available to all “Guild Wars 2” players, whether or not they have pre-ordered “End of Dragons”. This beta test will run from Tuesday to Saturday, and each player will have dedicated character slots to create their new test characters.
This week’s elite playable specs will be the Vindicator, Bladesworn, and Catalyst. Here’s a quick breakdown of each for those who missed the devstream.
These Witnesses summon the power of Canthan champions Archemorus and Saint Viktor to decimate their enemies with the relentless power of the Mists. With a sword in hand, Vindicators can deal damage to large groups of enemies while also inflicting the Vulnerable and Cold debuffs.
Vindicators have access to a range of mobility skills that make them more agile than other Revenant specializations. They can also summon the Spirit of Archemorus to throw spears at enemies or call upon Saint Viktor to heal nearby allies at the expense of their own health.
Developments in Canthan combat technology and techniques have resulted in the birth of the Bladesworn, a different race from the Warrior class that uses the Gunsaber, a two-handed sword equipped with a firearm that can inflict devastating damage in one shot.
The Bladesworn revolves around ammo management and the use of the new Dragon Trigger class mechanic, which places the warrior in a samurai-style Iai stance that can be followed by a number of different moves.
This new Elementalist specialization grants them access to a host of new hammer abilities that can be used from near and mid-range depending on their elemental harmonization. Catalysts can channel the power of Astral Beasts into Power Wells via their Jade Spheres.
Catalysts can destroy enemies with overwhelming barrages of elemental force while providing their party members with a variety of buffs and constant access to finishing combos. This specialization also gives Elementalists decent defensive and mobility options to keep them in combat longer.
