Guild Wars 2 players report double issue with committed titles
Guild Wars is an MMORPG game developed by ArenaNet and published in partnership with NCSoft. The game was released in 2012 but is enjoyed by thousands of people to this day.
The game is set in the world of Tyria and follows the events that brought about the reemergence of Destiny’s Edge. It is known for its detailed stories, fast-paced action, and stunning scenery.
Updates to the game have introduced a lot of new content, which has attracted a loyal following.
During its 9-year history, players have won numerous achievements, some of which reward the user with a title indicating their dedication to the game.
Nonetheless, Guild Wars 2 players are finding that the game has a dual issue of committed titles. Basically, players get the same title for completing two different achievements.
The first is in the Bastion des Pénitents category. The achievement is called Attuned and requires players to “beat the Mursaat Overseer game piece while the challenge is active”.
The second achievement that awards the Committed title is the Anniversary — Year 9 achievement. This was recently added to the game to celebrate its 9th anniversary.
For those who don’t know, Mursaat Overseer CM already gives the title Engaged and the recently dropped 9th Anniversary title is also Engaged. We have been wondering for many years (since the release of Wing 4) what ArenaNet would do in this situation.
Which one they would change, maybe the anniversary title would be blue like Extra Life, maybe they would change it to Truly Committed (Truly Nimble) among other possibilities. Today is the day. It turns out that ArenaNet probably never noticed that we have had 2 titles with the same name for so many years.
Anniversary year 9, Achievement ID 1689, and Achievement ID 3287 (Defeating Mursaat Overseer while the mote challenge is active) both reward Engaged Now. However, the name of the Mursaat Overseer Challenge Mode achievement is Attuned.
It looks like someone on the dev team forgot to check when they were working on the recently added achievement Anniversary – Year 9. While the issue isn’t critical, it’s certainly odd to get the same title two. times.
As it turns out, the developers of Guild Wars 2 are aware of and are already working on the hired double title issue. However, there is no ETA on when this will be fixed.
We hope that the developers of Guild Wars 2 will change the name of one of the titles and resolve the double title issue in the coming days.
