Guild Wars 2 Update May 10 Now Live, Patch Notes Here

Guild Wars 2, a free-to-play MMO RPG from ArenaNet, recently received a major update. The update brought tons of new content, gameplay tweaks, and lots of bug fixes. Several character balance changes have also been made.

Poles of the world

Rebalanced the experience and loot distribution in the “Clear Invasive Species from the Hatchery” event in Seitung Province to be more rewarding when successfully completed.

Added a Puzzle Helper effect to the Seitung Province Spirit Vestibule maze that allows players who have already beaten all bosses to help others with events.

Added an announcement when the Aetherblade Assault meta event fails in Seitung Province to better communicate the failed status.

Added an announcement for when the Teenager Leviathan boss uses his Leviathan Swallow skill for the first time to help educate players on the event mechanic for all event builds.

Rebalanced event scaling and increased lab tech health in the “Defend the techs while they redirect power!” during the Kaineng Blackout meta-event.
General

Removed evasion frames from the Risen Acolyte’s Staff Strike attack.

Completed the DirectX 11 rendering engine beta.

Skiffs now have a health bar that becomes visible to their owner and party members when the skiff is anchored and below 100% health.

Fishing knots have been discovered at the underground lake below Teku Nuhoch in the heart of Maguuma.

Added Fish Eggs bait to the Lion’s Arch Fishing Supply Vendor to help anglers trying to catch Rainbow Trout in nearby rivers.

Fixed golden mahseer icon incorrectly using the same icon as normal mahseer fish.

Updated an area where mounts are disabled on the north side of Ember Bay to allow players to cross the waters entirely by skiff or skimmer.

Increased the drop rate of Exotic rarity regional fish that are only available during the day or night.

Increased the drop rate of Saltwater Fisher Collection fish when fishing in open water and from nodes named Saltwater Fish.
Strike Missions

Strike Mission: Xunlai Jade Junkyard Challenge Mode is now available.

Increased rewards for completing Aetherblade’s Hideout with Challenge Mode active.

Increased the duration of the stun applied to Scarlet Briar and Mai Trin’s echo when their challenge is broken from 5 seconds to 10 seconds.
