Tom Abernathy, GW2 Senior Narrator, Moves from ArenaNet to Bungie

A new year means a new job for Tom Abernathy, the senior narrative manager at ArenaNet, who has left the developer of Guild Wars 2 to take a similar role at Bungie. Abernathy himself announced the move on Twitter yesterday:
After 5 years in the best job I’ve ever had, it’s time for me to find new challenges. I left ArenaNet. Lead the team @BobbyStein & I’ve built has been the honor and thrill of my career, & I and all of our staff will miss them dearly. I couldn’t be prouder of our work together. +

Taking over Abernathy’s role at ArenaNet will be a longtime studio veteran Bobby Stein. The End of Dragons expansion launches next month, so we’re assuming all story elements are locked down and won’t be affected by the change in leadership.
Destiny 2’s next big expansion, The Witch Queen, is also slated for a February launch, so Abernathy likely won’t have any input on that. Instead, he’ll likely direct the post-expansion story and future expansions – or maybe he’ll be put to work on some of the studio’s other projects, like the “New Stories in the Destiny Universe” or the new IP that Bungie is working on.
