Best Guild Wars 2: End Of Dragons’ Cantha Locations
.jpg)
Cantha is the new island nation that players have explored in the new expansion Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons. It was cut off from the rest of the world over 100 years ago (so far), so the whole area feels foreign and unusual. It’s also visually stunning, which makes exploring all the more appealing.
There are so many beautiful places in Cantha that it would be impossible to name them all. Each of us forms a different connection with the different regions we discover on our travels and with the nooks and crannies that make the world feel alive. However, in this article, we have collected our favorite destinations for you.

cat island

We couldn’t make a list of the best places in Cantha without including Cat Island, could we? It is, quite simply, an island full of cats. You have to cross a rickety rope bridge to get there (or jump on a mount from below), but we promise it’s worth it.
As you climb, you’ll encounter cats with their own wacky names and descriptions, like Sissel, who “really loves pets. Requires them, in fact.” And, at the very top, you can pick up an End of Dragons Mastery Point. It’s a win-win situation for you and cats because, don’t worry, you can pet them.

Port of Seitung
- Canthian card: Shing Jea Island
Seitung Port is one of the very first areas you come across in End of Dragons, so it’s no surprise that ArenaNet wanted to make a splash. This area is stunning from top to bottom, in every crevice, crack and dock there is a beautiful sight to behold.
There are the port market, of course, which hosts vendors selling fish, vegetables, and other things you’d expect from a farmer’s market, all around a small man-made pond. There are the docks, where you will have an incredible view of the city and the giant bell surrounded by jade. There are local streets curve between the houses, where people trade and talk to each other. The immersion and attention to detail are breathtaking.

Shing Jea Monastery
- Canthian card: Shing Jea Island
Shing Jea Monastery is where you meet the Empress of Cantha shortly after your unexpected arrival, so you may have been too dazzled to take a look. Well worth your time. Given that this area is so sophisticated, it’s no surprise that your beloved author, Snargle Goldclaw, is here.
If you take a look around you will first and obviously find the royal court with the Empress’s throne. It is blue and sits on a jade pedestal, sculpted to look like a wave with fish caught in it. Outside there is a memorial, gardens, private residences and many disoriented people from the Tyrian continent discussing with the Canthan inhabitants the history of the region.

jade monument
- Canthian card: Kaineng New Town
Much of the city of New Kaineng is beautiful, but we have to praise this garden in particular. It’s a place with a small man-made stream, golden grass and trees, and – the main event – a colossal monument carved out of jade. representing Soo-Won. It was erected in honor of his protection from the plague that broke out when Zhaitan awoke and technological advances she gave to the Canthan people. You will definitely need to take some screenshots here.

Garden of the Celestials
- Canthian card: Kaineng New Town
You’ll also find the Garden of the Celestials in New Kaineng City, which ties a little more to the tech aesthetic you’re probably thinking of when you think of Kaineng. This garden is high in the sky and a bit of a pain to reach until you know what you’re doing, but definitely worth your time.
This place offers sweeping views of the city below, showcasing the spectacular architecture and the ways jade-tech has been integrated into everyday life. Nearby, a large piece of jade hovers in the air, exposed.
5
Sanctuary of Saint Anjeka
- Canthian card: Echovald Wilds
The Sanctuary of Saint Anjeka is a hidden place in the Echovald Wilds with a point of interest attached to it. You’ll need to head here for the Cryptseeker achievement which grants you access to the Valdhertz Crypts mini-dungeon.
This magnificent underground cave is bathed in soft yellow light passing through a partially destroyed window. Ghosts of the past hover nearby, restless. And, in the water below, there are rare and unique fish to catch. For this reason you will often find players here on their skiffs.
4
Mori Village
- Canthian card: Echovald Wilds
Mori Village is a large tengu encampment tucked away in a remote corner of the Echovald Wilds, far from the hideouts of the two gangs: the Speakers and the Jade Brotherhood. Here, the Tengu live in relative peace with each other.
It was nice to, in this expansion, get some more knowledge for the Tengu race. They feature prominently in other parts of the game, especially if you’re playing as a Sylvari and have encountered the great great gate leading from Caledon Forest to their hometown. They do not allow non-Tengu to enter their hometown of mainland Tyria precisely because of their pre-Cantha history: an ancient emperor drove most of their kind from Cantha. I can’t blame them for not trusting others after experiencing such cruel racism.
3
Club Canach
Everyone’s favorite bad boy, Canach, reappeared for this extension. This time he was running a club from an airship – until you gave him a hand and he eventually created his own club in Arborstone.
The Club Canach area is super fun! There are mini-games to play, a band to listen to, a bar to get drunk in…everything you’d expect from a dance club, even in a fantasy world. Only don’t gamble more than you can afford spend, huh?
2
turtle temple
- Canthian card: The end of the dragon
The Turtle Temple is a relative drop in the ocean that is Dragon’s End. However, the more time we spent crossing it to get to events, the more we liked this place.
It is a temple dedicated to an animal spirit (the turtle, of course) which managed to survive amid the mining efforts of Qunlai Jade and the destructive forces of the Void not far away.
A group of Canthans is there, praying. From this temple, you can observe the different aspects of the story inherent in the Dragon’s End map: the destruction of the Void, the scaffolding set up for mining, and the natural waves that formed so long ago when the Jade Sea first crystallized.

Edge of the Archipelagos
- Canthian card: The end of the dragon
Edge of the Archipelagos is an area in the northeast corner of Dragon’s End, where the formation of the Jade Sea, Qunlai Jade mining efforts, and the destruction of the Void have not had such drastic impacts as further south.
This place is lush: absolutely brimming with life. You could easily spend hours admiring the trees and waterfalls here. This delay would be facilitated by the fact that there is even a bar tucked away on the lowest level, with friendly patrons to talk to and young seat turtles playing nearby.
