Disney Parks MagicBand Plus Brings Star Wars Bounty Hunts to the Edge of the Galaxy

Disney’s improved MagicBand will let you live like the mandalorian and go bounty hunting in The edge of the galaxy at Walt Disney World in Florida this summer. The MagicBand Plus is a wearable device that bridges aspects of the Play Disney Parks and My Disney Experience apps, the park, and the resort.
The company gave reporters a preview of the interactive Star Wars game for May 4. By heading to the bulletin board near Galaxy’s Edge Garage (which is in Hollywood Studios Park), you can accept a mission to hunt down someone for the Bounty Hunters Guild.
You can get more details about your Galaxy’s Edge reward on the Disney app.

Your assignment will be random, and bounties include droids, a few odd species, and various members of the galaxy’s scum and villainy.
It’s basically a game of hot and cold – if you’re close to the mark, the MagicBand Plus will quickly flash a nice Jedi green, and it’ll turn a mean Sith red if you get too far away.
You’ll also get boosts in the Play Disney Parks connected app, so even newbie bounty hunters won’t end up wandering around without a clue, and you can always reset to get a new mission by returning to the board. guild display.
The MagicBand Plus is available in an assortment of colors.

Outside of the bounty hunt game, the MagicBand Plus will be able to interact with the Fab 50 statues scattered around the park and light up during nighttime events. It will also be compatible with Amazon’s Alexa if you use the Hey Disney Assistant, but that’s not available yet.
Disney didn’t reveal pricing for the new band, but existing ones cost around $30 (varies by design). Parks blog WDWNT spotted some of the new ones on sale for $30 last weekend, but they were apparently shelved early and quickly taken down.
Baby Yoda fans will want to find this strap again.

The new model is rechargeable, comes with a USB charger and is waterproof in case you jump in your hotel pool. How long a charge lasts will depend on how much you use it – a hard day of bounty hunting at Galaxy’s Edge will drain faster than more passive use.
There will be 16 designs to choose from at launch, some with solid colors and others with characters and designs. One particularly yummy option is nondescript to fit the Galaxy’s Edge theme, but has a little Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) printed on the strap.
It will come to Disneyland California at a later date.
