Knights of the Old Republic II’, plus today’s other new releases and sales – TouchArcade

Hello dear readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade roundup for June 8, 2022. As I mentioned yesterday, I had to go to the fancy hospital for some tests today. I will have the results next week. The result is that I didn’t have much time for today’s article. Nevertheless, I have prepared the summaries of the new releases as well as the usual lists of new and outgoing sales. We will resume normal programming tomorrow. Let’s go!

New releases

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords ($15.00)

Highlight of SwitchArcade!

I don’t think it’s a particularly well-hidden secret at this point that with a few tweaks, Knights of the Old Republic II is actually an even better game than the considerably more popular first installment. The biggest problem the game had at the time was that it wasn’t quite finished when it came out, and that is indeed the core experience we have here on Switch… for now. A free DLC will be coming which will add some mods which will go a long way towards making it more comprehensive, but even in its base form there’s a lot to enjoy here. Only fifteen dollars too. I will have an opinion on this soon.

My Lovely Wife ($14.99)

Highlight of SwitchArcade!

Remember my lovely girl? A funny game, that one. But it was very interesting, just like My Lovely Wife. You play as a widower who is suddenly contacted by his dead wife with instructions on certain rituals that can bring her back. The key is in the succubi which, if properly sacrificed, can serve as a receptacle for your wife’s soul. Summon a succubus, woo her, and then… well, the choice is yours, I guess. You can betray them or not. There are over twenty Succubi to encounter, leading to over forty different endings. Can you destroy other people’s lives just to bring back your own loved one? A kind of unique dating sim, and one worth checking out.

Space War ($6.99)

Here’s another side-scrolling shooter, this one with a Game Boy look to its visuals. The aliens have invaded and you must dispatch them in seven stages of shooting action with some puzzles mixed in. There’s a good variety of plan types, lots of different color palettes to choose from, and interesting secrets to uncover. It sounds very meaty and potatoy in many ways, but that’s not always a bad thing.

Sales

(North American online store, US prices)

Personally, there is nothing that jumps out at me in the list of new sales. A few good games in there, but a lot of games that we see on a regular basis, you know? In the outbox, Game Mill and Arc System Works wrap up their latest sales, along with some Circle Entertainment titles and a few other odds and ends like Xeno Crisis. Go through these lists with your little peepers and see if there’s anything you want.
