Where to find every safe in Verdant Brink in GW2
- Mellaggan’s Strongbox of Valor
Safes are hidden caches located around maps in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. These boxes will reward you with a mastery point the first time you open one, making them very useful when exploring and gaining mastery experience. In verdant borderyou can find five safes located around the map.
In this guide we will look at every vault location in Verdant Brink, as well as how to get there. But before that, let’s go over some general details and start with the basics: what do you need to find these items?
How to find safes
To find these safes, you just need to unlock the ability to use drafts while sliding and use bouncing mushrooms. These two master’s degrees will be unlock as you progress through the Heart of Thorns story, so that should be a piece of cake. First, let’s look at the Faren’s Flyer Vault.
You can access each of these vaults without a mount. However, it can be a little easier to reach them if you already have unlocked mounts
Faren’s Flyer Vault
This vault is perched high above the trees and can be found on the wooden deck of a crashed airship. To access the Faren’s Flyer Vault, start your journey from Mallaggan’s Valor Waypoint.
From there you will want to head east on the platform until you come to a small rising vent. Jump here and glide down to the wrecked ship, taking a second vent to launch yourself higher into the air. Once you land, you can run straight to the view; in the map part of the image above you can see the waypoint path leading to the view.
In sight, turn southwest until you come across a wooden deck. You won’t be able to see it right away from your current location, but you will be able to see where it is on your map. Head down to the bridge and you’ll find the safe towards the front edge.
Vault of Tyrian Glory
The Glory of Tyria safe is quite simple to open; first, head to the Faren’s Waypoint Flyer.
From there, take the path leading to the east side, as shown in the image above. Arrived at the ledge, you can slide down and find the safe on a small ledge.
Lethal Vantage Safe
This safe is a little harder to reach because there is no set path you can take. Starting from the Shipwreck Peak Waypoint, descend to the creeping crevasse. You should see a hero point and a mastery point close together in the direction you are swiping.
Before you get to the location, you can find the Lethal Vantage safe on a ledge to the east. If you go past it, you can either use a mount to get there or start over from the Waypoint.
If you’re worried about missing the safe, start your search high in the branches. Once you get to the location marked on the map above, you can drop down to the lower ledges until you come to the one with the safe.
Mellaggan’s Strongbox of Valor
Next, we have Mellaggan’s Valor vault. To get here, Start at Mellaggan’s Valor Waypoint and head northwest to the platform you are currently on. The edge of the platform will have a bouncing mushroom that will take you through the gap, on a new platform full of enemies. Go left from here until you see a stone structure.
There can be a lot of enemies on this ledge so if you’re looking to quickly open the safe, we recommend that you take an immediate left and keep your distance.
You can reach the top with the mushroom bouncing off the north side of the structure, or using your Springer mount. Once at the top of the platform, you can open the Mallaggan’s Valor vault and claim your reward.
Finally, we have the Thunderbreaker Vault. Despite the difficult name, this safe is the easiest to find.
To access this vault, head to the Faren’s Flyer Waypoint. From here, you can see the safe looking west. In the image above, you can see the view of the Vault right at the Waypoint.
Climb the ramp from the waypoint until you’re on top of the wreckage, then slide down to the vault. Alternatively, if you have a Springer mount, you can simply jump on it from the bottom of the platform the box is on.
With this, you have now opened all the safes in Verdant Brink! In total you won ten achievement points and five mastery points. There are also safes in the other Heart of Thorns maps, so don’t forget to explore those locations as well.
